How you get picked
Most people picture someone studying their house for weeks. That is not what the research found.
When 422 convicted burglars were asked, only 12% said they typically planned it. 41% said it was usually spur of the moment.
Which is worse, in a way. Nobody is studying you. Somebody is walking past, looking at your house and your neighbor’s, and deciding in a few seconds which one is easier. Almost everything that decides it is visible from the street.
What the record says
That is the whole argument. You are not up against a professional. You are up against somebody impulsive, carrying a screwdriver, choosing between your house and the one next door.
Before you buy anything
The shape every item in the book takes.
PENDING · sample item (Mayk). A first line that knocks down the reader’s assumption.
Admit the obvious part, then give the rare detail.
Physical, today, with a tool you already own.
What it does not fix, and when to pay someone. Every item carries this.
Named next to the item, not in a bibliography. This is the whole difference.
One task, on the door you use.
Written out in full, with what to do if you find one.
Where the money goes
Footage of the break-in you could have stopped at the door frame, for less than the camera cost.
A monthly bill before the one-time fix that costs less than lunch, and outlasts the subscription.
The thing you buy instead of the thing you do every night for nothing.

“It bothers me watching people pay thousands for systems a burglar ignores, while the four-dollar fix that actually stops him sits unmentioned at the hardware store.”

Nothing in here expires
There are no prices printed inside the books. A price printed in a book is wrong within two years, and I’m not selling you something that expires — so prices live on a short, dated list, and I re-send it free when they move. That list is the only reason to leave an email. PENDING · o que é exatamente a folha grátis — Mayk

Where every line comes from
Police departments across the country publish burglary-prevention guidance. Federal statisticians publish who gets burglarized, how they got in, and who was home. Researchers have gone into prisons and asked convicted burglars how they picked a house. All of it is public. Almost none of it is in one place, and nearly nobody prints the source next to the advice.
That is what this book is. Every item says where it came from, right next to the item — not in a bibliography at the back that nobody reads. If you want to check one, you can. I would rather you did.
What this book does not do. It does not promise you will never be burglarized. It does not teach anyone how to get into a house. And there is not one item in it I could not point you to a source for.
Read all three, run the two free checks, and if it isn’t what I said it was, write to me and I’ll refund you.

Questions from the porch
Published prevention guidance from police departments, federal victimization data, and academic research with convicted burglars. Every item names its source on the same page as the item. None of it is my opinion about what probably works, and none of it is a number I made up.
You do not have to take my word for anything in here. Every item has a source printed next to it, and every source is public. Check the ones you care about — that is what they are there for. PENDING · resposta final do Mayk (maior objeção do nicho). Acima é a parte verdadeira em qualquer cenário.
No. There is not a firearm anywhere in the three books. Every item is about the house: the door, the window, the yard, and what the record shows keeps people out.
No, and it never will. What you are allowed to do varies by state, by city, and by the circumstances of the night, so the book does not guess. For that, ask a local attorney or your county sheriff. Every plan in the book ends the same way: get to a room, call for help, in that order.
There is nothing in this book about how to get into a house — not one lock, not one window, not one technique, including the “so you know how they do it” version, which is the same thing wearing a different hat. Every item is written from the side of the person protecting the house.
A good part of it works anyway, because a good part of it is habit and what is visible from outside your door — neither needs a landlord’s permission. Some of it does need to be screwed into something you own, and the book says which items those are instead of pretending otherwise. Volume III is written for exactly this.
Then you are ahead of most people, and the research agrees: about 60% of the burglars surveyed said an alarm would send them somewhere else. The gap this book fills is the rest — the doors and windows that were simply open, the screwdriver, the decision made from the sidewalk in a few seconds. Equipment nobody uses properly loses to habits that cost nothing.
Do the two free checks above first. If both come back clean, you are further along than most, and the guarantee covers the rest. If one does not, that is your answer.
Some of it is. Common sense that nobody actually does is worth writing down. And some of it is not: most people would guess a burglar picks locks, and the number is 1 in 8.
PENDING · depende do preço da edição impressa (order bump) — Mayk. A resposta diz as duas: download instantâneo, e a impressa como opção.
Doors and the people who test them do not change quickly, and every source is dated, so you can always go back and check it still holds. The prices are the only thing that moves, and those live on the free list, not inside the book.
From readers
This stays empty until real readers fill it. We won’t put words in a stranger’s mouth.
This page and the book do not provide legal, medical, or use-of-force advice, and nothing in them should be treated as any of those. Where the right answer depends on where you live, the book tells you who to ask. There are no firearms and no entry techniques anywhere in it.
